Job Summary and Purpose
The Trinity UMC Digital Content Manager is responsible to the church, under the direction of the Communications Director, for coordinating and managing digital content on various platforms. This person collaborates with the Communications Director and other members of the communications team to organize, schedule, and share ideas, concepts, and messages through engaging digital expressions. These digital communications should compel people to engagement and action as they grow in their discipleship, living to make Jesus visible through the ministry of Trinity United Methodist Church.
Specific Responsibilities and Job Duties
Communications Administration
- • Help coordinate the day-to-day workflow of the Communications team, ensuring projects move smoothly from request to completion.
- • Organize communication calendars, digital assets, and project documentation to keep the team efficient.
- • Assist with email newsletters, website updates, and other recurring communications across Trinity’s digital platforms.
- • Support the Communications Director with planning, scheduling, vendor coordination, meeting preparation, and other department initiatives.
Social Media & Media Creation
- • Manage and curate content for Trinity’s social platforms (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, etc).
- • Proactively engage with ministry areas to gather stories, updates, and visuals for digital sharing.
- • Respond to direct messages and comments on social platforms in a timely and hospitable manner, or coordinate appropriate follow-up when needed.
- • Help evaluate and expand Trinity’s presence on emerging digital platforms as needed.
- • Collaborate on campaign planning and content calendars using internal project planning tools.
- • Recruit volunteers with marketing or content creation abilities and coordinate with them to serve the social media needs of Trinity.
Photography & Videography
- • Coordinate and assist (as needed) with shooting and editing photos and video content for ministry events, Sunday worship, campaigns, and storytelling needs.
- • Coordinate video projects from concept to completion, whether produced in-house or outsourced.
- • Maintain a growing library of visual assets for use across Trinity’s platforms.
Website Management
- • Keep Trinity’s website updated with relevant events, ministry opportunities, and announcements (WordPress).
- • Support user experience improvements, content accuracy, and basic SEO best practices.
- • Coordinate with outside vendors for larger development needs.
Weekly Duties
- • Attend weekly campus staff meetings, weekly production team meetings, along with any other meetings designated by your direct report or needed to fulfill your job duties.
- • Provide assistance to the Director of Communications in support of the needs of Trinity UMC.
Schedule & Compensation
- • This is an on-site, full-time position (40 hours)
- • Includes benefits (medical, dental, pension, etc)
- • Occasional evening or weekend hours depending on event coverage
- • Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications
