Sharing Empowerment

Sharing Empowerment

Networking with other community organizations, we are able to give hundreds of families and individuals the resources needed to thrive in their communities.

Community English Class

Monday nights • 6:30-8:00pm

Language barriers can be a significant obstacle to overcoming financial insecurity. Trinity volunteers work to empower our neighbors with better English speaking, reading, and writing skills to overcome barriers to success.

Transportation Ministry

As part of our Refugee Ministry, we provide transportation to and from the Outreach Hub Free Store, ESOL classes, necessary appointments and more. If you are interested in welcoming our new neighbors in this way, contact Fred McCallum or Mary Liz Ingram for more information!

More Details

Community English Class

Teach:
Our Community English Class is always looking for volunteers to come help teach on Monday evenings. To sign up, or to find out more info, contact Connie McCallum.

Snacks:
We are looking for volunteers to provide snacks for the students (adults, teens, and children) in our ESOL classes at Trinity West Homewood on Monday nights. The classes meet from 6:30-8:00 pm most Monday evenings, so drop off/set up in the Fellowship Hall around 6:00 is ideal. Snacks can be anything from water and fruit, nuts, crackers or cookies, to nuggets or pizza; however, we request no pork, please. They love these special treats! There are around 40 in classes right now, but this number stays fluid. I will update numbers as time goes on. If you, your friends, neighbors or Sunday School class would like to help with the hospitality for this group, please sign up! Contact Connie McCallum with any questions. Thank you for helping make our neighbors feel welcomed!
