Rev. David Thompson has been at Trinity since May 2005. He started as the Youth Director and is now the Executive Pastor here at Trinity.
David was born and raised in Tuscaloosa, AL and is the son and grandson of United Methodist pastors. David earned a B.S. in Art from the University of Montevallo and a Master of Arts in Youth Ministry at Memphis Theological Seminary. David is currently a full time local pastor in the North Alabama Conference.
Before serving at Trinity United Methodist Church, David was the Youth Director at Latham UMC in Huntsville, AL. He is married to Tina, and they have four daughters, Madelyn, Anna Blakely, Lily and Hadley. David is a member of the United States Team Handball National team and has represented the USA in 2 Pan American Games, a World Championships and various other international competitions; he is the vice president of the USATH Board of Directors and sits on the Athletes Advisory Council for the US Olympic Committee. David enjoys time with family, sports and playing music. He shares, "our goal in ministry is to partner with families in growing up students in a Christian environment."
