Rev. Brian Erickson arrived at Trinity in June 2014 as the Senior Pastor Designate and, beginning in June 2015, assumed the full responsibilities of Senior Pastor. Brian was raised at Trinity and Vestavia Hills UMC, and is a graduate of Birmingham-Southern College and Emory’s Candler School of Theology. For the first decade of his ordained ministry, he served as a college chaplain to BSC and then the University of Evansville, where his responsibilities included service-learning, Christian formation, and teaching. In June of 2009 he was appointed as the Senior Pastor to the First United Methodist Church of Alabaster, where he oversaw five years of tremendous growth in worship attendance, community involvement, and professions of faith. He currently serves as the Chairperson for the North Alabama Conference Board of Higher Education and a trustee for the Appalachia Service Project.
Brian is married to the former Mollie Lane Jackson, and they have three awesome kids. In his spare time, Brian enjoys woodworking, restoring vintage campers, playing the banjo, and cycling. He is the author of “The Theological Implications of Climate Control: Reflections on the Seasons of Faith,” which is exactly what it sounds like, a really long-winded book destined for clearance racks everywhere. He and his family love Trinity and would love for you to come see what we’re all about.
