Discover the joy of creating something beautiful with your own hands in our upcoming pottery class at the Trinity UMC Studio! Whether you’re new to pottery or looking to try something fresh, this intimate, hands-on workshop is a meaningful way to explore creativity and faith in community.
Led by talented Birmingham potter, Melinda Storey, this three-part class invites six participants to craft an 8-inch flower-impressed plate and a faith-inspired magnet. Melinda brings both skill and heart to her instruction, and you’ll also have the support of experienced members from the Trinity Pottery Guild along the way.
Class Details:
Session 1: Monday, August 11 | 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Learn how to roll out slabs of clay, use plate molds, and press in real flowers to create beautiful, textured pieces. Instruction led by Melinda Storey and Trinity Pottery Guild members.
Session 2: Individual Appointments
Participants will schedule a one-on-one studio visit to clean and refine their leather-hard plates in preparation for bisque firing.
Session 3: Tentative – August 24
Gather again with Melinda and the Guild to glaze your bisque-fired creations and bring your pieces to life with color.
